Panasonic PV-300D OmniMovie VHS CamCorder/Player w/ Case ('86).
What a remarkable machine. I had a great time dusting it off and testing it. Very exciting when it powered on. And it looks like all the parts are here and then some - including what appears to be a never-used shoulder strap, as well as two batteries.
Please see pics. This thing is in really nice condition with a few of the kind of scuffs you would expect from a used camcorder this old - mostly on the padded side where you put it on your shoulder.
As stated, I did test it.
Here is what I know:
-The camcorder powers on
-The charger works (doesn't blink rapidly, etc.)
-The AutoFocus works (which is pretty cool to watch, since the ring around the lens moves on its own as it zooms in and out)
-The VHS playback works
Here is what I don't know:
-I can't figure out if it records, but it seems to be doing something. The record button makes the reel turn, but I can't claim for sure that you can record videos with it. It seems like it is in great shape, so perhaps I'm just not doing it right.
-While I know the viewfinder works because it works in playback mode, when I am trying to record it just says "Light." Maybe you are familiar.
Bottom line, this is a fantastic show and conversation piece and THE COOLEST VCR IMAGINABLE FOR YOUR LIVING ROOM!
