The DASH2 Pro is designed for anyone wanting a compact yet feature-packed digital dashboard. From road cars to race & rally applications, the DASH2 Pro displays all the information required by the driver in an extremely compact yet clear and easily read format. Stand alone with 6 input channels but can be increased to more if required.
The DASH2 PRO is a complete and ultra configurable display system using powerful data processing and a range of enhancement options. The enhancement options available customise the DASH2 PRO to your application (including built in GPS data logging, CAN communication options to decode ECU or CAN bus data, additional analogue inputs and output controller options) so you can have a complete road/race ready system within one ultra compact die-cast aluminium case. The DASH2 PRO shares the same compact case as the standard DASH2 but that is where the similarity ends, the DASH2 PRO features an all new display and internals. What does the DASH2 PRO do?
The DASH2 PRO is a vehicle display system that has everything required to pass an IVA test (road legal) so you can replace your entire vehicle dashboard with the DASH2 PRO unit. The unit displays sensor data in the user's preferred units, and warnings can also be set for critical channels. The unit has 5 screens of data which can be scrolled through using buttons (not supplied). The unit is configured using PC software via USB cable connection. Displayed data, units, alarms, shiftlights, RPM scale etc is all configurable to the user's exact requirements. Lap and sector times can be displayed as GPS lap/sector markers are passed (requires GPS data logging option or connection to one of our GPS data loggers).
What are the standard features of the DASH2 PRO?
The standard features of the DASH2 PRO are the same as the standard DASH2. Any enhancement options will be in addition to these standard features.

Does the DASH2 PRO have any additional features over the standard DASH2?
Unlike the standard DASH2, the DASH2 PRO has the following features: -
The LCD contrast and backlight brightness can be adjusted to your preference, in both day and night modes.
When the alarms are triggered the backlight will also Flash for a more noticeable warning.

Upgrade Options
GPS Data Logging and 2g Accelerometers
A complete data logger and display in a single compact package. Featuring lap timing using GPS, and accelerometers for measuring grip usage. Data is logged to internal memory and downloaded via USB.
6g Accelerometers
An upgrade to the 2g accelerometers in the GPS data logging option. 6g accelerometers are recommended for use on high downforce vehicles, where more grip is available.
Low Side Drivers and 4 Extra Analogue Channels
Low side output drivers and 4 extra analogue inputs is the option you will require if you want to switch on/off external systems automatically using your DASH2 PRO. This control can be simple or based on a complicated custom equation between various channel data. This option also enables the 4 additional analogue channels, making a total of 8.
PWM Output Controller
The PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) output controller generates a pulsed output between 100-1000Hz, at a duty cycle controlled by a user equation. This output allows for a fine control of an output system rather than just a simple on/off control. This is ideal for water injection systems / nitrus oxide injection control etc.

Serial Port
A second serial port is ideal for combining multiple input and output modules for complex systems, or driving a low speed telemetry channel on one port and a high speed output for video overlay on the second. A breakout cable is supplied with this option to enable easy connection of the separate serial ports.
CAN Communication
CAN reception (15 channel license):
With this option the unit can decode any CAN data from either the vehicles main CAN stream or CAN based aftermarket ECU. This data can be mapped to any RT channels for saving or sending to serial port. Messages loadable using .dbc files. Data rates of up to 1Mbit and 11 or 29 bit addressing. CAN transmission:
With this option the unit can transmit any of the internal data channels on the CAN bus at a rate determined by the configuration. A .DBC file is provided with the default channel data and decoding information to make use with third party CAN reception systems much easier. Data for transmission on the CAN bus could be from the internal sensors (GPS, accelerometer, gyro, analogue channels, etc.) or from the serial input from an ECU interface or other unit attached to the serial port. The transmission rate for each channel can be individually configured at rates of up to 100Hz. Transmission can use 29bit or 11bit addressing at a number of different baud rates.

What is the difference between the standard DASH2 and this DASH2 PRO?
The main difference is that the DASH2 PRO offers powerful live data processing and a range of enhancement options, enabling you to have a more complete system in just one compact component. For example: you can add CAN reception to take sensor data directly from your vehicle's CAN bus or ECU, and add an extra 4 analogue inputs for sensors - all without adding another component into the system. Reducing the number of components in the system reduces clutter and improves reliability by reducing the number of connections.
The powerful processor in the DASH2 PRO also allows for the "Advanced Options Bundle" featuring car computer functions, advanced alarms, advanced shiftlight functions and much more. These functions are available as an optional extra.
Visually there are differences like the bi-colour shiftlights (which can be configured to work in multiple ways with the Advanced Options Bundle) and higher density connectors. There are also some very subtle differences to the all new LCD display, with some extra segments and lap/sector timing functions now being possible on the large segment area at the bottom of the LCD. The backlight brightness and the display contrast can also be adjusted to your preference, for both day and night time modes.
Can the DASH2 PRO be used standalone?
Yes, the DASH2 PRO is a provided with direct inputs for sensors such as wheel speed, engine speed and analogue sensors; to be used as a complete standalone system. It is also compatible with other Race Technology equipment if you require GPS lap timing, more sensors or video integrated into your data system.
Can I use the sensors already on my vehicle?
Yes you can, though it will require them to be setup correctly - the software can generate the custom equation for the sensor from a simple table of testing results. For more information please get in touch.
Is the DASH2 PRO road legal?
Yes, it has everything required for the latest IVA tests to be fully road legal - Including tamperproof odometer, backlit display and mandatory warning lights.
How do I control the unit?
The DASH2 PRO is controllable using 4 momentary push buttons (not included). These are used to scroll through the different display screens and through the menus and unit settings. We do not supply buttons as standard as many people don't use them or already have buttons in a particular style to match their vehicle. Button sets are available as an extra.
How do I configure the DASH2 PRO unit with my settings?
Using the DASH2 PRO configuration software included with the Race Technology software installation, and a USB cable to link the unit to a PC. The unit DASH2 PRO unit will require a power supply, as it must be powered on during configuration. For detailed instructions on configuration please visit main RaceTechnology website.
Is the DASH2 PRO reliable and well made?
The DASH2 PRO is class leading in terms of component quality, build quality and reliability - it is a very high quality professional instrument, entirely designed in-house and manufactured in the UK. The unit carries the normal 12 month guarantee against manufacturing defects and lifetime email support.
Please note: It is necessary to connect four external buttons to the DASH2 PRO in order to operate the menu system and select different display screens. Buttons are not supplied with the DASH2 PRO as standard because experience has shown that many customers wish to use their own buttons matching other equipment installed in the vehicle. Race Technology can supply a set of four buttons if required or any momentary "push to make" button can be used.
