Dynaco model 6 mono block power amplifiers, only produced 1,000 pairs.
As shown in photos, this is a pair of Dynaco model 6 amp that has been totally rebuilt from the stylish chassis to the circuit. As with any old amplifier, the most common failure of parts is the large electrolytic capacitors. By eleminating the old parts with faster more accurate tighter tolerence parts this will improve the, transparence, dynamics, relability and sound.
The work had to be done, there is no sence restoring an obsolete circuit design unless you do it right. The only thing that has any worth, are the transformers and the chassis. In addition, I had AHT - (American Hybrid Technology) install the latest computer tested driver technology program with a fully regulated tube circuit that is far superior to the old circuit with new lighting fast power diodes with better sounding tubes.
Through the years, it is the obvious choice to have an electrical engineer AHT who has improved hundreds of Dynaco 70’s “ The Dynaco Specialist” perform the work. It is a rare opportunity to find an engineer who has dedicated his life to music such as he. He is always been on the cutting edge to improving high-end audio with newer technology such a pro-audio. In example: it is now possible to combine two technologies
(high-end audio with digital pro-audio) to achieve a 200% improvement with your existing speakers by using a digital audio signal processor. This will require 1 mono block amplifier per driver not per speaker. Therefore, in example: if you have a 3 - way speaker, you will need 6 mono block amps, one mono block amplifier per driver. This will eliminate the Zobel passive crossover network with all the phase distortions and power differences between the different drivers as well as eliminate the preamplifier and mismatched frenquency bands between each driver such as the tweeter, midrange and subwoofer. With this new technology combination, this will reduce the electrical load on each amp by spreading out the electrical load so that each amp is coasting with little electrical resistance. If only speaker manufacturers only knew; audio would become the rage that it once was in the early 90’s with all the new advancements.
