Antique Metal Handle Hammer Rubber Head Jeweler? Doctor?

Description

I couldn't find this anywhere on the internet! At first the head looks like burnt wood but I think it is a rubber. The handle is silver colored metal. There is much discoloration on the handle and piece that attaches to the rubber. There are scratches. It measures 7 3/4" in length. The handle is 6.3/4" and the rubber part is 1" x 2 3/4". If you do purchase this would you please tell me what it is? Thank you!
