    Description

Antique Japanese Maekanaga Clasp: Man reclining with a mouse.  The back of the clasp does come off and one of the prongs has broken off. The front is the figure. There is a lot of details.
The Maekanaga is made of iron and can also have bronze, copper, gold and or silver on the front. The clasp is used for closure or decoration on a Japanese traditional tobacco pouch. The designs are usually very detailed and unique.
These clasps can easily be made into a pin or pendant.
    Measurement: 1 3/8 inches wide X 5/8 inches tall.
All items are vintage and have been used or stored. There maybe some wear. Most of the large defects have been photographed or detailed in the descriptions but there may be some smaller defects that have been overlooked.  Please look carefully at the photographs and if you have any questions, I will be glad to answer them.
