    19th Century Bronze Loom Pulley,Thailand Burmese/ Kinaire Buddhist  Weaving Tool.
    This half female and half bird figure is Named Kinaire. She is a mythical creature known in the Buddhist and Hindu Pantheons. Her function gave weavers the threads she held above their heads, her features gave the inspiration as these Artisans wove their intricate creations with her help.
    Utilized on a hand loom for weaving this relic of the past is from the Asian regions around Thailand and Burma now known as Myanmar. This 5-1/2" Bronze ornate pulley was formed using a lost wax process, it speaks to the high degree of creativity of the people's of that region. It has survived intact and has a wonderful patina.
