    Description

    Amarapura Buddha, 18th century, Bronze.  Amarapura was founded in 1782 and was twice the capital of Myanmar.  It's royal palace, great temple and fortifications are now in ruins.  This style Buddha later influenced the later Mandalay.  This particular bronze sits in Varijrasana and Bhumisparse (calling the earth to witness his good deeds in front of Mara).  He is in very good to excellent condition, with thick internal verdigris expected of such age.
